  1. Tribes should be incorporated on the first day of school using a lot of modeling and practicing.

  2. Tribes allows for students to be active participants in their learning. Introduce the concept of tribes; create an learning enviroment, which allows for people to be respectful participants and active listeners.

  3. Honestly I think it will depend on what you will be teaching. I think the method would work well in short periods of time for Elementary students, but Junior High and High School I think it will depend on the subject. I had a music class where a once a year we got into a group for 12 hours and played our instruments until 5 in the morning, by learning from the other cellist in the group I learned a lot more tricks in accomplishing difficult passages then I did with the whole Orchestra or personal practice time.

  4. How I would like to incorporate tribes in my classroom is having the community circle be the first thing you do in the morning or before each class depending if you are elementary or secondary. Since I am in elementary I feel that it can allow the students to get to school and sit in a circle and relax before they are thrown into working. We don't know what circumstances these students are coming from when they arrive at school. So I think it is important for them to talk with one another about things so that everyone can get to comfortable level to start learning.
